BBC Radio 1.8

Superseded by version 2.2.

Just a quick update to add Five Live Sports Xtra UK – for coverage of sports events for which the BBC doesn’t have international broadcast rights. I’m guessing this station is only available to UK IP addresses.

Anyway, this now means that test match coverage is available for cricket fans. Get it here!

Unfortunately, the widget still won’t run on Intel Macs – Real Player is PPC-native, so the plugin (which BBC Radio widget uses to decode audio) can’t run inside Intel-native apps such as Dashboard. Hopefully Real will sort it out soon!
Real sorted it out! (And it only took 9 months…). You’ll need RealPlayer 10.1 if you want to listen on an Intel Mac.

Oops

Apologies for the downtime recently. Bit of a security blunder. Hopefully it’s all sorted out. As a consequence, file uploads are suspended at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience, blame idiots with nothing better to do. :)

BBC Radio 1.7

Superseded by version 2.2.

Seems like only a short while ago I released v1.6… This new version adds local radio listings. Yes, all 40 stations. It took a long time!

BBC Radio 1.6 Update

Superseded by version 2.2.

Finally. So what’s new?

  • Avoids a crash if you have no internet connection – displays a polite notice instead
  • Added regional radio stations for Scotland, Wales and Ireland

Future plans are a complete rewrite (eventually, for v2.0) and in the short term complete listings of BBC Local Radio. That’ll be a pain though, not least because I’ll have to make images for each one, and that will take forever!

Enjoy. http://www.phantomgorilla.com/widgets/

Widgety goodness

Superseded by version 2.2.

Welcome, visitors from Dashboard Widgets! And from Apple.com, as of 12th June. Please don’t be too scared.

I suppose I should make a post about my widget here. It’s, uh, really cool. It plays radio streams from the BBC, and looks pretty smart to boot. And yes, of course I’m biased.

Any suggestions or support queries – please check out the helpful comments to this thread. I’ll try to get them organised into an FAQ. You can also send them to me via email if you like. :)

I’ll be submitting it to Apple soon… but their submission guidelines say I need a “specific supporting website” – so I actually have to think of some stuff to put on a page

Oh yeah, if you didn’t come here from the widget and don’t fancy wading through the archives over at Dashboard Widgets, you can get it right here.

Update: I uploaded the widget to Apple, and it’s there right now. Quadrupled my blog traffic overnight!

New Growl Views!

Well, as promised, here’s the first delve into my goodie bag of material. Cumulus and Cumulonimbus, two icon sizes each (currently 48px and 64px, but I’m thinking of making the first one 32px, cos so many notifications sent to Growl have stupidly small icons). Anyway, my gripes aside, get ‘em while they’re hot.

Standard Colour

With the help of Xenon on #colloquy, the weird bug in my Colloquy message style is now gone. Yay. Well, I say “my” style – about 4 characters of it is my original work. It’s really just the bastard lovechild of DecafBland and Standard. Still, I think it is more than the sum of its parts and is actually rather sexy. I’ve posted it here if anyone is interested, and a screenshot is left (just in case you hadn’t realised)…

Spotlight 1.4

Spotlight 1.4 follows Shadowrunner 2 onto Adium X(tras). Smooth scrolling is fixed, thanks to Zaudragon getting the updated code.

Shadowrunner 2.0 released

Shadowrunner 2 has been released onto Adium X(tras). Yay!

Shadowrunner 2.0

Shadowrunner 2 beta 2 is out. Same link as before. Added a header (I suggest you leave it off, but whatever floats your boat) and also changed the colour of the links in status messages to match better. I’ll probably stick this on Adium X(tras) in a few days time. Enjoy…
